Whittier (Anchorage) / Alaska (VS)
The town of Whittier is located on the Passage Channel in Alaska. The nearest town is Anchorage. The city's port is ice-free throughout the year and is therefore of central importance to Alaska. The city is lined with mountains and glaciers. The city owes a large part of its current infrastructure to government projects in WWII. So the small town with its 300 inhabitants is also worth visiting, especially because of its picturesque location.
